About the School

Since its establishment in 2001, the School of Law at the Kigali Independent University / Campus of Gisenyi has grown into one of the leading law schools in Rwanda and the African Great Lakes Region. Today, undergraduate students exceed 350, with a healthy balance between female and male students, and a steadily growing staff complement.

Our Mission

The mission of the School is to produce excellent law graduates and to serve the legal profession and the community through innovative, relevant, comprehensive, and integrated programs and research.

Academic Excellence

The school focuses on providing the best lawyers for the future through tuition by dedicated and well-educated staff. Lecturers are trained in leading law faculties, with opportunities for LLD or PhD studies to ensure high-quality education.

Degree Programme

The License Degree (LLB) offered after four years of study, completed by a full dissertation, enables graduates to access the legal profession and a variety of law-related careers.
